The Despair Collective is a bold, genre-defying electronic-rock band hailing from Buffalo, New York. Fusing elements of cinematic rock with a retro, synth-driven sound, the band creates a sonic experience that’s as intense as it is cinematic. With powerful guitar riffs, haunting basslines, and an explosive blend of electronic textures, The Despair Collective bridges the gap between eras, drawing influence from classic rock legends like Queen, the theatricality of Ghost, and the industrial heaviness of Rammstein.

At the heart of the band are guitarist Mike Longo and bassist Dana Fogle. However, much of their sound is brought to life by an ever-evolving cast of session musicians, who contribute drums and vocals to the mix, giving each track a unique energy.

What began as a solitary creative experiment by Dana—an idea sparked while working on a single song at his kitchen table using just an iPad—has quickly grown into a powerhouse musical venture. This passion project first took shape in 2021 with the release of their debut track, “Your Say,” which set the tone for what would become their signature sound: cinematic, emotive, and drenched in atmosphere. Shortly after, guitarist Mike Longo joined the ranks, and the band unveiled their cover of "Crackerman" by Stone Temple Pilots, demonstrating their versatility and respect for classic rock.

Following these milestones, The Despair Collective's catalog grew with the release of original songs such as “Saints to Sinners,” “Breathe Again,” and “Sunrise for the Soulless,” each track expanding their vision further and establishing a loyal following of fans. These songs blend heavy guitar-driven rock with synthesizers and electronic layers, making them accessible to fans of both traditional and experimental music alike.

The band’s trajectory has only risen since then, fueled by a commitment to pushing musical boundaries. They've already collaborated with some of the music industry’s top professionals, including producer Yoad Nevo (Ed Sheeran, Bryan Adams, Pet Shop Boys), recording engineer Doug White (Gym Class Heroes, Stemm), and touring musicians like drummer Nick Mason (Pretty Boy Floyd) and Fabio Alessandrini (Annihilator). These collaborations have given The Despair Collective an even more polished and dynamic sound while continuing to elevate their presence in the music world.

As they continue to grow, the future of The Despair Collective looks brighter than ever. With new music in the pipeline, a drive to create electrifying live performances, and a dedicated team of talented collaborators, The Despair Collective is poised to make an even bigger mark on the music scene. They’re not just playing the game—they’re changing it
